Obuasi: Latrine-dumped New Baby Receiving Medical Attention

A day-old baby discovered in a public latrine at Ahansonyewodea in Obuasi in the Ashanti Region is receiving medical attention at AngloGold Ashanti Hospital (A.G.A.).
The baby was discovered and rescued by personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) on July 20, 2025, at around 10:30 PM.
Personnel from the Obuasi Fire Station, led by StnO II Appiah Kubi, arrived on the scene promptly within minutes and descended bravely into the latrine by means of an extension ladder.
The baby was successfully rescued alive at 11:31 PM.
“The child was then rushed to the AngloGold Ashanti Hospital (A.G.A.) for medical attention.”
The Service further commended the Crew for their swift response, bravery, and unwavering commitment to saving lives.
