NPP Descends to Rebuild Grassroots
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in a quest to reposition the party after their woeful defeat in the December polls has set out on what it calls “Rebuilding Our Base”.
The aim is to retouch and strengthen its connection with the grassroots.
The initiative fashioned by the General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong is in the form of a tour which started at the University of Ghana (UG).
“In an effort to reinvigorate the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and strengthen its connection with the grassroots, I have commenced the “Rebuilding Our Base” tour at the University of Ghana. This initiative aims to restore the party’s vitality and position it for future electoral success by focusing on its core supporters and ideological foundation,” he wrote in a Facebook post.
According to him, the tour reflects a strategic shift towards grassroots action, aimed at rejuvenating the NPP by reconnecting with its historical roots.
“Rebuilding our base entails reconnecting with our roots, understanding where our support originates, and strengthening the very foundation that has defined the NPP’s success,” he emphasized.
He further underscored the party’s renewed dedication to inclusivity, declaring, “The forgotten men and women of NPP will be forgotten no more.”
Accompanying him were key party officials, including Mr. William Yamoah, Director of Finance and Administration; Haruna Mohammad, Deputy General Secretary; and Salam Mustapha, National Youth Organizer.
Also included were Jay Hyde, Deputy National Youth Organizer; Alhaji Osman, Ayawaso West Wuogon Chairman; Dr. Agyanim Boateng, TESCON Patron; Stephen Forson, Deputy Director of IT; and George Krobea Asante, Deputy Communications Director.
