“Nobody Calls Me”-Van Vicker
In an interview on GTV Super Morning Show, Van Vicker has disclosed that acting offers do not come his way during appropriate time but always clash with his lectures and examinations, so he turns down most of them.
Veteran actor, Van Vicker, told GTV that he took advantage of Ghana’s waning movie industry to further his education.
“I decided to go back to school, something I had always wanted to do in many many years. Because the industry wasn’t flourishing as much, I used the opportunity to go to school and that is where I have been.
“I am not being filmed because many times when they give me the schedule, it clashes with my lectures or exams and ironically, when I am on vacation, nobody calls me. I normally think to myself, ‘I am on vacation, call me and you do not call me’. The minute I start lectures, they bring the script. I was home for about a month and no one called”, he said.
He made it clear that he does not want to combine acting and schooling.
According to him, he was doing an average of 10 movies in a year but has settled on 3 currently.
“In the past 3 or 4 years, I have done no more than 3 or 4 films, conversely, I would have done perhaps 10 or 15 in a year but here I am, in three or four years, I have done only three or four.. I did not want to mix acting and school”, he said.
