“6 Attempts On My Life Failed”- Van Vicker
Actor Van Vicker has opened up about his days in Liberia during the Civil war – 1989 to 1997.
Van Vicker revealed that he nearly lost his life in a series of attacks on him in the year 1991 within a space of 3 to 4 months.
According to him, incidents like what is currently unfolding in Afghanistan awaken those memories which make him realize how blessed he is.
“In 1991, within the span of 3 or 4 months I almost got killed about 6 times so for me when I see things like what is happening in Afghanistan, it brings back those memories which is very sentimental and I just count my blessings every day”, he said.
He said the memories revitalizes him and keep him going in life and evokes empathy for such victims.
“It keeps me going on, it gives me resilience; it gives a lot of fortitude in life so I keep pressing on knowing that I could have passed on in 1991. It also gives me empathy with individuals who are seen on plane which has taken height. It hurts me to my gut and I am thinking, that could have been me. I have had similar familiarities with that and so I would want no one to go through such an experience”, he pointed out.
