Nitiwul Inspects Gov’t Projects At Burma Camp

The Minister for Defence, Dominic Nitiwul has inspected projects under the government’s Barracks Regeneration project at the Burma camp and Teshie, the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) reported.

The visit to the selected sites was on Wednesday, July 20, 2022.

Among the projects inspected by the Nitiwul included the General Headquarters Office Complex, Army Headquarters Complex, Military Academy and Training Schools (MATS) accommodation (for instructors and cadets) and a warehouse for Base Ordinance Depot.

Addressing the Press, Hon Nitiwul revealed that similar projects were underway at the various Garrisons.

He emphasised that the military was the last resort in terms of security for the country hence the need to retool GAF to be up to the task.

He also disclosed the government was in the process of acquiring additional armoured vehicles, fighter jets and offshore patrol vessels to secure the country’s land, air and sea borders.
