National Service Personnel Directed To Vacate Posts
A group calling itself the Concerned National Service Personnel has directed all National Service Personnel (NSP) across the country to vacate their various posts following a declaration of industrial action.
This comes after “many attempts to draw the attention of the National Service Scheme to our plight but yet to no avail”, the group said in a statement.
“The Organisers of the Concerned National Service Personnel write to you to vacate your post and withdraw from every work you are rendering under the directive of the National Service Scheme at our user agency effective Monday, 30th May 2022”.
The group says it will hold a press conference and a peaceful demonstration in the Central region as well, today.
“We encourage all National Service Personnel in the country to comply with this directive as it is our right to demand for justice”, the statement concluded.
The National Service Scheme is characterised by delayed payment of allowance to personnel.
Additionally, the scheme is operated such that personnel are always owed a month’s arrear.
