National Chief Imam Calls On Asantehene
The National Chief Imam, Shiekh Nuhu Sharubutu, has called on Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at the Manhyia Palace.
His call was during the second Awukudae of the year which fell on March 1, 2023.
He was accompanied by a delegation made up of some members of the Zongo Youth and the Nkosuohene of the Zongo Community.
His visit to the region and subsequently to the Palace followed the death of the Sarkin Zango of the Ashanti region, Sultan Omar Farouk Saeed, who was buried on Friday, February 24 aged 75.
“We are here to mourn with the King and console him on the passing of the Sarkin Zango who we know was dear to him”, his spokesperson said.
The National Chief Imam further said some prayers for the King after pointing out that His Majesty occupies a special place in his heart.
“His Majesty has been asking for intercession. He (Sheikh Nuhu) is here to intercede on behalf of the King to God based on his (Otumfuo) good heart so that his Kingdom will be strengthened and established.
“A person like Otumfuo occupies a special place in his (Sheikh Nuhu) heart and so with every opportunity he gets, he will pray for him”, his spokesperson said.
Further testifying about the King, he said the country has on several occasions witnessed his ineffaceable impact in the country.
In his prayer- said in Arabic and interpreted by his spokesperson- the National Chief Imam asked for long life, strength, protection, peace, good health and dominance for the King.
He also prayed for the Kingdom and Ghana.
