Music Can Heal Mental Illness – Music Director
Mr. Enock Boateng, Music Director of the Youth Choir of the Mid-Central Ghana Conference in the Seventh-day Adventist Church (SDA) of Ghana, highlighted the power of music in an interview during the inauguration of the Mid-Central Adventist Youth Choir Union (MICAYCU).
Speaking with Opemsuo Radio’s Adwoa Serwaa Yonkodo, he emphasized that music has the ability to heal mental illnesses, provide strength, reduce stress, promote spiritual growth, and impart knowledge.
Mr. Boateng noted that the music landscape has evolved over the years, and their goal is to revive SDA music by bringing together over 20 youth choirs to learn from experienced singers and directors.
He further appealed to music award authorities to recognize the contributions of SDA musicians, whose music is powerful, popular and spiritual.
In his remarks, Pastor Daniel Kyei Baffour Junior, President of the Mid-Central Ghana Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, encouraged the youth to seize opportunities to serve God, emphasizing that the future of the country and the church depends on them.
He urged the youth to refrain from violence against God’s image and advised SDA members to seek guidance from their pastors and elders regarding the upcoming general election, which may coincide with their worship services.
