Mpox Cases Hit 409

The Ghana Heath Service (GHS) has announced a surge in the number of Mpox cases.

In an update, it said 37 new cases have been recorded.

This total number of cases now stand at 409 as of August 14, 2025.

Of the total active cases, two are said to be on admission with one recorded death.

Mpox spreads mainly through close contact with an infected person.

The GHS has since encouraged the people to protect themselves by avoiding close contact with infected persons; washing hands often with soap and water; and avoiding regular touch of eyes, nose and mouth.
