Leave A Legacy Behind – Otumfuo Counsels President Akufo-Addo
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has given free but expensive advice to the President of Ghana; His Excellency Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo, to disprove the perception that Agenda 111 will end up like several projects he began in various parts of the country – incomplete.
Otumfuo, through his representative, Nana Achina Kwagyan, the Asuonyonuhene confirmed his confidence in Nana Akufo-Addo during the launch of the project which took place at Trede where the sod was cut for the first of the 111 hospitals.
He mentioned some uncompleted hospitals in the Ashanti Region and referred to several others, emphasizing the doubt of Ghanaians.
He noted that the President had achieved a lot in life but was left with a legacy. Otumfuo charged him to therefore take the project as an opportunity to leave for himself a legacy.
“Your promise to protect the health care system of Ghanaians and to take a step to deal with COVID-19 pandemic, to leave behind a legacy, Otumfuo welcomes you to begin it here. Many nations congratulated you some time ago when you said you can revive the economy but you cannot bring back the dead”, he said.
The Asantehene Representative said, “Ghanaians are in doubt that you can do this new project because you have not even succeeded at completing projects like the one at Kumawu, Formena and several other projects which have surfaced on social media. They are even talking about the insufficiency of funds you have set aside for the over 100 hospitals in various districts and regions.
“All that is required of a citizen, you have achieved. All that is left for you is to serve Ghana to leave a legacy. Ghanaians are good at remembrance so that we remember you with that. Mr. President, Ghanaians doubt your ability to complete this project but Otumfuo believes you can do it”.
“The country voted for you based on the level of development you brought, if you don’t hold on to that, Ghanaians will vote you out with hunger and anger but Otumfuo has confidence in you that you will do it. Otumfuo says he will support you with prayer so that every hole in the public purse will be patched up to protect the purse to be able to complete the project”, he said.
