Kudus Handed Additional Two-Match Ban and Fine
The Football Association has handed Ghana International Mohammed Kudus two additional match suspensions for his improper and violent conduct in their 4-1 loss to Tottenham Hotspurs two weeks ago.
He is also to pay £60,000 for the offence.
This was announced by West Ham in a press statement on November 6, 2024, following the FA’s verdict.
“West Ham United has today (Wednesday) been notified by the Football Association of charges relating to our Premier League fixture against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, 19 October 2024.”
In addition, West Ham will also pay a fine of £30,000.
It added, “Whilst the Club is disappointed with the outcome, it respects the process that has been undertaken.”
Kudus initially earned a red card that ruled him out of three matches which runs until after the next international break.
The West Ham winger was punished for striking Spurs defender Micky van de Ven and midfielder Pape Matar Sarr during the second half of the game.
He was initially given a yellow card; however, it was upgraded to red after a VAR review.
The ban extension means he will miss the Newcastle game on November 25 and Arsenal on November 30.
He will be available for the Hammers away match against Leicester City on December 3.
