Kofi Agbesimah Leaves Hearts after a Year

FC Samartex have signed Kofi Agbesimah from Hearts of Oak on a short-term contract almost a year after he joined the Accra-based club.

The Timbers say his inclusion is critical to their defence mechanism on the field in the next season in a statement announcing the transfer.

“We are delighted to announce that experienced centre-back Kofi Agbesimah has joined us permanently on a two-year deal from Accra Hearts of Oak.

“His acquisition will ultimately invigorate the defense with unmatched experience and add a new dimension to the team.”

The 27-year-old signed for Hearts in August 2023 from Bechem United where he scored six goals in 125 appearances in the premier league.

At Hearts, he went ahead to make 32 appearances in the premier league and score a goal.

Samartex is taking advantage of the transfer window to enhance the team as they prepare for the continental challenge after claiming the 2023/2024 Ghana Premier League title.

Meanwhile, Hearts have started offloading some of their players and introducing new ones into their fold for better results in the approaching season.

The Head Coach of the Phobians, Aboubakar Ouattara at a press conference on Thursday, July 25, 2024 said he was not going to stop any player who wanted to leave the club.
