IMF Bailouts: The Government Has Failed Is An Old Politician Talk – Kusi Boafo
Chief Executive Officer of Public Sector Reforms (PSR) and economic Expert, Mr. Kusi Boafo has stated that claims that ‘the government has failed’ for running to the IMF for bailouts is an old politicians’ talk which does not make any direct impact on the reality on the ground.
Speaking on Opemsuo Radio, the PSR CEO said, such comments and statements are commonly known among politicians even when there is a good course.
According to him, “the reality is that there are two major global crises that are tormenting and tearing apart economies of countries globally even including more advanced countries which Ghana has not been left isolated”.
Mr. Kusi Boafo stated that “until we live to see to the end of these two global crises, that is, Covid-19 and the Russia-Ukraine war, no country would be economically free”.
He said, for this reason, the government has called on the IMF for bailouts and that it is obvious that many countries will also run to the IMF but not only Ghana, on that note, the government hasn’t failed.
