IGP Deploys Special Team to Gbeniyiri after Reprisal Attack
The Inspector-General of Police, Christian Yohuno, has deployed a special police team to quell the conflict in Gbeniyiri in the Savannah Region.
The team comprises Intelligence Officers and Investigators.
They are currently providing support to the Regional Command to intensify security and to bring perpetrators to justice.
In a statement, the Savannah Regional Command assured the public that calm has since been restored.
It stated that efforts are ongoing to arrest those behind the attacks and bring them to prosecution.
This follows reprisal attacks in the community that led to the killing of four Fulani herdsmen last week by some Brifos.
Reports indicate that the reprisal attack follows the killing of a local man.
