GNFS Probes as Dawn Fire Destroys 226 Structures at Dagomba Line

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has commenced investigation into the cause of fire outbreak at Dagomba Line near Oforikrom in Kumasi.

The fire is reported to have started around 4 am on April 8, 2026.

The blaze ravaged wooden structures and their contents.

Reporting on the fire in a statement, the Service said the fire destroyed 226 wooden structures and their contents.

“Firefighters from KNUST Fire Station, supported by Regional Headquarters Substation and Asokore Mampong, brought the fire under control at 0559 hours and extinguished it at 0653 hours.”

It further reported that no casualties were recorded.

“The cause of the fire is under investigation.”

The Service affirmed that it’s swift response saved lives and prevented further damage.
