Ghana To Host Liberia In Friendly Game
Ghana will host Liberia in a friendly match at the Accra Sports Stadium in mid-September.
The squad for the game have already been put out by Coach Chris Hughton.
Featuring are Inaki Williams, Antoine Semenyo, Jordan Ayew, Ernest Nuamah, Osman Bukari, Joseph Painstil, Jonathan Sowah, Abdul Samed Salis, Baba Iddissu, Andre Ayew, Elisha Owusu, Edmund Addo, Mohammed Kudus and Ransford Koningsdorffer.
The rest of the 25-man squad are Alidu Seidu, Kingsley Schindler, Stephan Ambrosius, Joseph Aidoo, Alexander Djiku, Nicholas Opoku, Baba Abdul Rahman, Gideon Mensah, Lawrence Ati-Zigi, Abdul Manaf Nurudeen and Richard Ofori.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) says the match is meant to prepare the Black Stars for the yet-to-be-qualified-for Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
“The game comes five days after the crucial qualifier against Central African Republic at the Baba Yara Sports stadium on Thursday, September 07, 2023. While Ghana aims to make a record 24th Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Cote D’Ivoire, Liberia are all but out of contention for the continental showpiece but would use the game to prepare for future competitions.”
The Match will be held on September 12, 2023.
