Asabee Seeks Asantehene’s Blessings after Retreating From Public Scenes

The former Minister for Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Stephen Asamoah Boateng, has sought the blessings of the Occupant of the Golden Stool, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, following his retreat from public scenes.

At the Manhyia Palace on Sunday, he explained that the retreat became imperative for reflection following the massive defeat of his party, the New Patriotic Party (NPP), in the 2024 General election.

He said it was the reason his absence from the presence of His Majesty had become too obvious.

He cited the same reason for his absence from the burial rites of the Queen of the Asante Kingdom, Nana Konadu Yiadom III.

“When the NDC took over power, I had to go take a seat back and reflect before coming back. When Asantehemaa passed away, I was in South Africa. I decided to come quickly on my return.”

“I came to pay homage and seek the blessings of His Majesty,” he added.

Meanwhile, the politician affectionately called Asabee has officially entered the race for the National Chairmanship of the NPP.
