Ghana and Belarus Open Talks on Visa Waiver

Ghana and Belarus have opened negotiations on a potential visa waiver and other relevant agreements and cooperation.

This followed a visit to Ghana by the Foreign Minister of Belarus, His Excellency Maxim Ryzhenkov, over the weekend.

Reporting on a meeting with his counterpart, Foreign Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa conveyed a heartfelt appreciation for the visit.

“This has been a really memorable and impactful visit… Our two countries have also agreed to commence negotiations on a visa waiver agreement, educational cooperation, defence, and cybersecurity collaboration.”

He reported that the two countries reaffirmed their commitment to their strong relations and are poised to enhance cooperation, particularly in the area of mechanised agriculture and tractor production.

This, he noted, aligns with President John Dramani Mahama’s Feed Ghana initiative.
