GFA Welcomes Applications For Black Stars Coach
The Ghana Football Association (GFA)-constituted Committee in search of a new head coach for the senior national male team, Black Stars, has urged interested coaches to apply for the position.
It comes after it was tasked to scout for a favourable head coach for the team in the stead of Chris Hughton who got kicked out after Ghana’s abysmal showing at the 2023 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
In a statement, the FA said the Committee has set a deadline of February 2 for interested coaches to submit their application for the job.
“The Search Committee therefore reminds coaches who are interested in coaching the Black Stars to send their applications including the curriculum vitae or resume, mission statement to the Search Committee to the email address: recruitment@ghanafa.org before the deadline above.”
The application will complement the Committee’s target coaches for the Executive Council for approval.
The FA is looking for a head coach to oversee the overall management of the senior men’s national team including the selection of players, tactical planning of training and games, and the performance of the Black Stars and will assume the responsibility for the general technical direction and supervision of the Black Stars, building the capacity of the technical team of the Black Stars.
The said coach must be knowledgeable about the latest trends and innovations in football tactics and development, have a football philosophy that aligns with or compliments the GFA’s DNA, collaborate with the Technical Directorate to identify and develop young talents for the national teams and have the ability to scout new talent for the national team and should be able to travel in-country or international to monitor players performances.
As part of his qualification, the FA is seeking a proven winner in coaching top men’s national teams or football clubs with the highest football license in the world with 15 years of football experience, a proven track record in team reconstruction, organization and development of young in talent and proven disciplinarian, tactician with strong leadership skills.
