GFA ExCo Meets Over Black Stars on Wednesday
The Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association (ExCo) will be meeting mid-week with the recent output of the Senior National Team, expected to play paramount among the agenda.
The Black Stars failed for the first time in 20 years to qualify for the 2025 Nations Cup having failed to win any of their first five qualifiers.
The little hope that remained was squandered when the team got held by unbeaten Angola last week at Luanda.
The ExCo is scheduled to hold its next meeting on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, where members will take key decisions to shape the future of Ghana football, the FA assured in a statement issued on November 18.
“Topping the agenda for the meeting is the performance of the Black Stars.”
Also featuring in the meeting will be issues on other national teams, the Regional Football Associations (RFAs), domestic competitions, a planned GFA Retreat and more.
“The ExCo meeting will receive updates on the various domestic competitions, including the Ghana Premier League, the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League, Access Bank Division One League, the MTN FA Cup and the Women’s FA Cup.
“In addition, the ExCo members will be briefed on the latest developments with the other national teams, including the Black Queens, Black Galaxies, the Black Satellites, Black Princesses, Black Starlets, and the Black Maidens. The U15 Boys and Girls Schools programme will also be discussed.”
It added, “The Regional Football Associations (RFAs) will also feature prominently on the agenda, with the ExCo members set to receive updates on the activities of the ten RFAs, 2nd Division, 3rd Division, Colts and the Regional Women’s Division One Leagues. Reports will be provided on the KGL U17 Colts Championship and the TDS Elite U15 boys and girls Colts Championships.”
