GES Issues Alert On Recruitment Scam
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has cautioned the public against “dubious” people defrauding persons seeking recruitment into the Service.
According to the GES, countless Nation Builders Corp (NABCO) beneficiaries have fallen victim to the scam.
“Management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has received numerous allegations/complaints of dubious people defrauding unsuspecting Nation Builders Corp beneficiaries seeking recruitment into the GES.”
The GES in a notice said it was disturbed by the development.
Most of the first cohort of the government’s flagship NABCO, have been at home without jobs after they were retired on September 1, 2022.
The NABCO Educate Ghana beneficiaries were promised enlistment into the GES, however, reports indicate that the group were not afforded the opportunity when the recruitment portal of the GES was opened last year.
These were reportedly directed to use middlemen to gain enlistment, however, in its notice, the GES dissociated itself from the practice and noted that it does not employ a third party to undertake recruitment processes nor does it charge for recruitment.
“The GES shall not be held liable for such payment”, it stated.
Meanwhile, it has directed the public to report such cases to the police service.
“Management is by this notice vehemently condemning such practice and wishes to inform the general public to report such unscrupulous persons to the police.”
