An amount of GHc75,000 has been donated by Japan Motors Trading Company in support of the 25th Enstoolment anniversary of the Monarch of the Asante Kingdom, His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

The amount was presented to the Manhyia Palace on Friday, April 12, 2024, by a delegation made up of the leadership of the company which included Mr Nouhad Kalmoni, the Executive Director, Abdul-Monem Metwaly, the Kumasi Branch Manager, Mr Wasim Ahmed, the Sales Manager and Mr Michael Oppong, the Branch Sales Manager.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Mr Kalmon said the support was significant in expressing the automobile dealerships’ appreciation for the ever-growing and unflinching backbone the King has been to them in their 20-year existence on the soil of Kumasi.

“We hope to be here for generations to come,” he added.

New Product
He also informed the King about Ineos Grenadier 4X4, a new vehicle the company has launched in their showroom and humbly requested Otumfuo tests it.

“Today, in relation to the King’s Silver Jubilee, we have also brought news to you about a product we have launched on the market, Ineos Grenadier. We would like to propose that His Majesty tests it. We received the vehicles just a month ago and we would be honoured to give it to His Majesty to try it.”

Giving some details about the off-road vehicle, he said it is a replacement for the Land Rover Defender which was brought on the market in the 80s.

“This is a proper 4X4 produced by a very big chemical company in Europe. They just bought 25% of Manchester United… It is a British Company with German Engineering and its factory in France.”

Otumfuo expressed his gratitude to the company for its contribution to economic growth in the provision of employment and payment of taxes to the government.

“Thank you very much for all the work that you do in Ghana in the industrial sector and all that to support the economy.”

He further encouraged them to explore other sectors for more investment opportunities, noting the country is open to investors.

He also thanked the team for the donation and consented to test the new brand.
