Four Critical Areas Mahama Will Focus On

The country’s sixth President in the Fourth Republic in his first speech at the Independence Square after his swearing into office on January 7, 2025, highlighted the macroeconomy, business environment, micro-economy, governance and constitutional reforms and corruption as his priority.
“The circumstances we find ourselves in are indeed dire but even so I will be decisive and swift in my actions to focus our initial efforts on four critical areas,” he announced.
He intends to transform the country’s economic fortunes and restore it back onto its feet. Additionally, he said he would stabilize the macroeconomic environment and; improve the business environment to ensure that Ghana is open for business.
Also key to him, he disclosed, is governance and constitutional reforms as well as upholding accountability and the fight against corruption.
He continued, “I have entered into a covenant with you, the good people of Ghana in which I have enumerated 26 actions that will take within my first 120 days. There is reason for hope and there is every reason for hope. But we must also have faith.”
