Firefighters Investigate Cause of Tolon SHS Girls’ Dormitory Fire

Personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) are investigating the cause of a fire that ravaged the Girls’ Dormitory of Tolon Senior High School.
The fire incident recorded on Monday, February 2, 2026, affected three rooms on the first floor, destroying beds, books, provisions, and other personal effects.
Two fire pumps from the Sagnarigu Municipal and Tamale Metro Fire Stations were used to fight the flames.
The Service reported that through its timely intervention, 15 rooms were salvaged—two on the first floor, five on the ground floor of the affected block.
It also salvaged 10 rooms in the adjoining dormitory block.
“No casualties were recorded. The fire was brought under control at 0823 hours and fully extinguished at 0855 hours,” it reported.
