FDA Shuts Other Branches Of Marwako

The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has shut the Abelemkpe and the La branches of the Marwako Restaurant in Accra after shutting down the East Legon branch following reports of food Poisoning from some of its customers.

The FDA said it visited the Yeboah and Del hospitals in East Legon for more information on the issue.

It added that the FDA’s Centre for Laboratory Services and Research already has samples for further analysis to establish the cause of the food poisoning.

“All necessary actions being taken including revisiting all branches of the Marwako restaurants to establish the extent of the incidence in order for corrective actions to be initiated to prevent any further harm to the public”

The East Legon Branch was closed down after a series of reports of food poisoning allegations flooded social media from persons who had reportedly eaten from the Marwarko branch at East Legon over the weekend.
