Accra Newtown Building Collapse: We’re Certain all Victims Have been Rescued- Muntaka

The Minister of Interior, Muntaka Mubarak, has confirmed that Christian worshippers trapped under debris when an incomplete structure collapsed on them have been rescued.
Addressing the press late on Sunday, he said the rescue mission was undertaken with the assistance of the Police K9 dogs, Narcotics Control K9 dogs and the military.
“We can say with 090 to 95% certainty that we have no one there. There will be clearing of the debris,” he said.
Notwithstanding, he said the rescue and security teams remain on scene to complete debris clearing and ensure safety.
According to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), an uncompleted four-storey building at the Experimental D/A School in Accra Newtown collapsed and trapped 23 people.
Three died, while 20 of them were rescued alive and transported to the Police Hospital, 37 Military Hospital, Mamobi Hospital and a private facility, the Minister for Interior, Muntaka Mubarak, reported at a presser.
