Election 2024: 89 People Arrested So Far

Data from the Ghana Police Service has shown that 89 individuals have been arrested for various criminal acts related to the election between Saturday, December 7 and Monday, December 9.

“89 suspects have so far been arrested in connection with various offences during the electoral process,” a statement by the police on Monday indicated.

Forty out of the almost 90 suspects engaged in looting, vandalism and destruction of properties, it disclosed.

“All suspects will be put before court to face justice,” the Service vowed.

Meanwhile, it announced measures to maintain peace in the aftermath of the election.

These measures include joint patrols by state security agencies, stationing officers at state agencies, undertaking intelligence-led operations and others.
