Court Fines “Loading Boy” ₵1k, Jails Him For Slapping Fire Officer
A “loading boy” along the Ejisu road has been fined GH₵ 1,000 and handed a 3-month sentence for slapping an Assistant Station Officer (ASTNO) according to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).
The sentence was given by the Ejisu Magistrate court.
The Service recounted that as part of the task force established by the Ejisu Municipality to enforce road traffic regulation along the Accra-Kumasi highway, the officer hampered an attempt by a driver to alight a passenger at an unauthorised spot on September 7, 2022.
In reaction to that the “Loading boy” slapped the officer, it said.
He was immediately arrested with the help of other officers of the task force and handed over to the police.
On September 9 after the Ejisu Magistrate court sat to hear the case, a fine of GH₵1,000 and a 3-month jail sentence were handed down to the “loading boy”.
The Service has on that note, warned the public against assaulting its officers.
