No Imminent Power Outage Ahead of Towers Relocation Along Kumasi-Accra Road- GRIDCo

The Ghana Grid Company LTD (GRIDCo) has allayed fears over an imminent power outage ahead of the relocation of two towers along the Kumasi-Accra road.
In a statement, it said it would take the 161kV Akosombo-Nkawkaw Transmission Line out of service.
The exercise will take place from Sunday, October 5, 2025, to Tuesday, October 14, 2025.
“The relocation has become necessary to make way for ongoing work by the Ghana Highway Authority, to expand the Kumasi – Accra road,” it justified.
According to the GRIDCO, necessary arrangements will be ensured to ensure that the work will not affect supply to consumers.
“We have also arranged for our engineers to be on standby to quickly respond in the unlikely event of any incident during the period of work. GRIDCo apologises for any inconvenience this may cause consumers and the public.”
