Black Meteors Already In Morocco For AFCON
Ghana’s U23 team have landed in Morocco ahead of the 2023 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
They arrived in Rabat on Wednesday, June 21 following a week’s stay in Egypt.
In Egypt, the Black Meteors played friendly matches against The Pharaohs of Egypt and Zamalek Sporting Club as part of their pre-tournament training.
Housed in Group A, Ghana will begin their campaign against Congo on June 25 at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat and then take on Morocco in the second Group match on Tuesday, June 27, 2023.
Their last group match will be against Guinea at the Grand Stade de Tange on June 30.
Representing Coach Tanko Ibrahim are Danlad Ibrahim, Aziz Daari, Aaron Essel, David Oppong, Haffiz Ibrahim, Samuel Ashie Quaye, Emmanuel Adjei, Emmanuel Appau, Emmanuel Esso, Dominic Nsobila, Samari Abass, Sylvester Simba,Godfred Wakii, Augustine Randolph and Ebenezer Addae.
The rest are Fatawu Issahaku, Ernest Nuamah, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh, Jordan Amissah, Zubairu Ibrahim, Emmanuel Essiam, Nathaniel Agyei, Edmund Arko Mensah, Terry Yegbe, Emmanuel Yeboah, Salim Adam and Kwadwo Poku Mahala.
Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer and Kamaldeen Sulemana were earlier named among the squad but are reported to have opted out.
