B/R: Eight Arrested Over Metro Mass Transit Workshop Invasion

The police have arrested eight persons in connection with the attack on the Metro Mass Transit Workshop in Sunyani in the Bono Region.

The suspects have been identified as Issakah Taugfic, Abudu Isaiah, Abdul Latif Mohammed, Mohammad Azandoro, Alhassan Issah, Amadu Mohammad, Abdulai Adams, and Abdulai Ibrahim.

Per police report, they unlawfully entered the premises of the Metro Mass Transit Workshop, attacked and threatened the workers to leave their offices.

They were arrested by the police rapid response team in the area when a distress call was placed by the workers.

The arrest brings to 97, suspects nabbed in connection with incidents of attacks, looting, and destruction of properties since the December 7 election.

“The suspects are in Police custody and being taken through the investigative processes. We wish to assure the public that the Police and other security services are committed to preserving the peace and security within our communities,” a statement from the police stated.
