Asantehemaa Dɔte Yie: See Gifts Presented By Paramount Queens as Farewell

The Paramount Queens across the over 60 paramountcies of the Asante Kingdom have performed their farewell rites as part of the burial rites of Nana Konadu Yiadom III, the Asantehemaa, affirming their reverence towards the deceased leader.
They presented before the King of the Asante Kingdom an assortment of gifts in honour of the late Queen, whom they describe as their “model” on September 16, 2025.
Among the gifts were Kente, bottled water, cash, traditional slippers, drinks and traditional headscarves.
Announcing their gifts to the Asantehene through Otumfuo Kyeame Baffour Kantankrankyi, the Queens recollected the affable nature of the late queen, her invaluable counsel and directions, as well as her flawless modelling techniques.
They also reflected on how her leadership inspired recognition for female traditional leaders through the institution of Queens’ Day to celebrate the contribution of Asante Queens and promote tradition and culture.
“We stand here today to honour the memory of our beloved lord. We are deeply pained and affected by this great loss,” Nana Agyakoma Difie II, Asante Mamponghemaa said.
The carefully planned burial rites, which started on September 15 with a series of activities, will come to an end on September 18.
Her Majesty will be buried on the last day at Breman Baamu.
Filing past is reserved to take place sequentially among dignitaries and the general public from September 15 to 18, between 5 am and 5 pm, except for the last day, when it will end at 11 am to make way for a burial service at 3 pm.
A key point to note is the institution of the restriction on outdoor movement effective 7 pm on September 18 to make way for the burial of Her Majesty.
