Anyidoho Has Prioritized Asomdwee Park Over Prof. Mills’ Legacy –Ahmed Ibrahim

Member of Parliament for Banda Constituency and Deputy Minority Chief Whip, Hon. Ahmed Ibrahim has stated that the Atta Mills Institute’s CEO and Founder, Mr. Koku Anyidoho has prioritized the Asomdwee Park issues over the legacy and achievements of the late President John Evans Atta Mills.

Hon. Ahmed Ibrahim stated that if Koku Anyidoho loves and value the late President as he claims he would have proclaimed and projected the good deeds, achievements, and legacies of Prof. Mills rather than creating unnecessary public awareness on the Asomdwee Park issue.

According to him, the Late President did a lot of things for Ghana under late President Rawlings as the Vice President and emerged on the frontline as the President of the Republic in 2009. He described him as the nicest President of the state in the history of Ghana.

He highlighted that there are a lot of good initiatives that were evolved by the late President that has benefited Ghana to the highest level, among them are Value Added Tax (VAT), Ghana Educational Trust Fund (GETFUND), and others.

He said the VAT subsidized and stabilized the National Health Insurance policy and many others while the GETFUND reduces the rate of schools under trees.

Speaking about the dejection of the Asomdwee Park reforms, the Banda Legislator indicated, that is untrue on any grounds because everybody is aware of the situation at the Asomdwee Park during the burial of the late President.

Hon. Ahmed Ibrahim has stated that the Mahama-led government gave the late President Prof. John Evans Atta Mills a befitting as a statesman.

According to him, the late former President Jerry John Rawlings’ burial under the Akufo-Addo-led administration did not befit him as a former Head of State.

Hon. Ahmed Ibrahim stated that it was quite unfortunate that the late President Rawlings’ demise happened under the NPP administration and to some extent was belittled in going about his final funeral rites.

He claimed that Rawlings’ legacy and achievements as a Head of State under the fourth Republic is superb to be glorified with a befitting burial worth more than what Ghanaians witnessed.

He emphasized that former President John Mahama regarded Prof. Atta Mills’ significance and gave him that last respect he required but the NPP government failed to do the same for the late Rawlings.
