Traders in Anwiankwanta, located in the Bekwai Municipality, are elated with the inauguration of a new market facility. Over the past few years, traders in the area faced challenges in finding a suitable and peaceful place to conduct their businesses.
Honourable Frank Awuah, the Assemblyman for the Anwiankwanta Electoral Area, explained the rationale behind the construction of the market.
He stated, “The opening of this market will greatly benefit the entire community and other neighbouring areas by providing a conducive trading environment. We are thankful to philanthropist Henry Opoku Oware for his immense support to the good people of Anwiankwanta and its surrounding regions. I also urge the traders to prioritise cleanliness and keep the environment clean after trading.”
Expressing his motivation for supporting the establishment of the market, philanthropist Henry Opoku Oware spoke to Opemsuo News Reporter Johnson Owusu Aduomi.
He said, “I have always been concerned about the welfare of market women, and it was my desire to assist them in finding comfortable marketplaces. Now is the time for us to come together and support our market women by providing them with suitable trading facilities.”
