You Made My Appointment Possible – Auditor General

The Auditor-General, Mr. Johnson Akuamoah Asiedu paid a courtesy call to His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II to show gratefulness to him for his advice and support that has landed him the position.

Mr. Akuamoah said he was the acting auditor general during his previous visit to the Palace and upon the counsel given him; he has been given the position as a whole for which he is grateful.

“I didn’t take HRM’s advice lightly, I worked upon it and with his prayers, I’ve been relieved of the acting role and given auditor general.”

Together with the service’s chairman and board members, at the palace they were counseled by Asantehene, to be vigilant as they discharge their duties.

He says their work is one of the valued jobs in the country because they are in charge of auditing state revenue.

“It is your job that can do away with corruption because you give room for an account when there are inconsistencies.

“Work well so that Ghanaians will be assured of bringing to book embezzlers.”

Otumfuo further told them to also be mindful of the staff at the grassroots who could be easily influenced to corrupt the service.

“Be cautious as it is possible for some workers to be influenced”

He also commended them for their office extension project across the regions and asked that they do more.
“Your office project will enable the effectiveness of your task.”
