OTUMFUO HAILS U.S FOR PROVIDING GHANA WITH VACCINES

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, has expressed gratitude to the American Government for the provision of 1.2 Moderna Vaccines to Ghana.

The vaccines received will ensure government’s vision of vaccinating more than half of the Ghanaian population.
He commended United States for their efforts in vaccinating about 50% of their population all in a move to combat COVID-19.

Otumfuo called for more support in the area of technology and employment.

He said many Ghanaian graduates are unable to find jobs years after schooling hence there was the need for more training programmes that focus on productivity.
 
Otumfuo made the observation when the United States Ambassador to Ghana, Stephanie Sullivan paid courtesy call to him at the Manhyia palace.

The Deputy Chief of Mission, Nicole Chulick was introduced to the King as well as the Global Health Security Program Director at the Centre for Disease Control, Danielle Barradas.
Stephanie Sullivan noted that they will do all possible to continue the supply of COVID vaccines and in the wake of that they are expectant of about 1.3 million Pfizer vaccines.

Otumfuo applauded the Ambassador for her duty as the commissioner to Ghana and asked that her deputy followed her footsteps for continued success.
