Court Remands Rev. Owusu Bempah, 3 Others

Reverend Isaac Owusu Bempah, Founder and Leader of the Glorious Word Power Ministries, has been remanded in police custody for allegedly instructing his church members to assault police officers in his church.
Rev. Bempah has been charged with threat of life for threatening to kill Nana Agraada, offensive conduct to the breach of peace and assault of police officer.
He made his first appearance before the Accra Circuit Court presided over by Judge Afia Owusu Appiah on Monday, along with three other members of the church.
All were also refused bail after legal counsel for the pastor, led by Gary Nimako Marfo, prayed the court for his clients to be granted bail, however, the Prosecutor, Chief Inspector Dennis Terkpetey, opposed the petition noting that the defendants need to be remanded to facilitate ongoing investigations.
