Sonia Opoku Earns Black Queens Call Up After Sparkling Season

Midfielder for Ampem Darkoaa, Sonia Opoku, has been handed a call-up into the Black Queens team after enjoying a scintillating season.
Thirty-eight (38) players have been called up to report to camping at the Ghanaman Centre of Excellence at Prampram on Thursday, July 15, 2021.
The Black Queens are set to begin preparation ahead of the 2022 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations qualifiers against the Super Falcons of Nigeria.
Injury nearly nailed Sonia Opoku’s awesome talent to the periphery. But she had to brave the odds to exquisitely come back onto the field to pursue her dream.
The skillful midfielder who produced a sublime performance in the just ended season in the Women’s League and FA Cup has returned to the national team after four years of battling with injury.
With how she stately fashioned out, she was named as the best player of the FA Cup.
Sonia has quick feet, savvy, composed and brilliant at taking-on opposing players. She’s one of glittering players this season produced.
Her inclusion will put the Black Queens at the pole position as they take on Nigeria in two qualifying matches in October 2021 and February 2022 for a ticket to the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
