I’ve Never Knowingly Used Any Banned Drug- Chelsea’s Mykhailo

Chelsea and Ukrainian winger Mykhailo Mudryk has stated that he has never knowingly used any banned substance.

It comes after he tested positive for an undisclosed substance.

This was confirmed in a press statement issued on December 16, 2024, by the Chelsea Football Club.

“Both the Club and Mykhailo fully support The FA’s testing programme and all our players, including Mykhailo, are regularly tested.”

The 23-year-old expressed his surprise at the outcome of the results in a social media post and affirmed his innocence.

“I know that I have not done anything wrong and remain hopeful that I will be back on the pitch soon…This has come as a complete shock as I have never knowingly used any banned substances or broken any rules.”

The Ukrainian is now collaborating with authorities to establish the cause.

Meanwhile, Chelsea in their statement said, “Mykhailo has confirmed categorically that he has never knowingly used any banned substances. Both Mykhailo and the Club will now work with the relevant authorities to establish what has caused the adverse finding.”

This means that the footballer cannot feature in any of the club’s matches until an amicable resolution.
