Hawa Koomson Marks Parliamentary Exit with Thanksgiving Service
The outgoing Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East Constituency, Mavis Hawa Koomson has held a thanksgiving service to mark her exit from Parliament after she lost her seat in the 2024 Parliamentary election.
Naa Koryoo of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) secured 50,886 votes to unseat the three-time MP who secured 46,638 votes.
“On Sunday, I joined my church family to give thanks and praise to God. It was a powerful reminder that our strength and hope come from Him alone.
“To my supporters, I thank you for your tireless efforts. Your hard work and commitment did not go unnoticed. Let’s continue to trust in God’s plan for our lives. May we come back stronger, wider and more united than ever before,” she said in a post appreciating her constituents and God.
In an earlier post dedicated to her constituents and party supporters, she said her period as a lawmaker was guided by a singular purpose of service to her people.
“This temporary setback will not deter me from pursuing what I firmly believe to be my calling—serving you, the people of Awutu Senya East.”
“To my party faithfuls, I understand the pain and disappointment this outcome has brought. But let us not forget that the NPP is a resilient and enduring force. Our ability to overcome challenges and rise again has never been in doubt. Stay strong, for brighter days are ahead.”
