Boomplay to Shut Down Ghana Office Soon – Artiste Manager
Artiste manager Kofi Donkor has announced that Africa-focused media streaming and download service, Boomplay, will have their office in Ghana closed in two days.
He shared this in a Facebook post on Tuesday as he demanded payment of royalties in arrears.
“Boomplay pay us our Royalties before you close down the Ghana office on Friday!!”
In the comment section of the post, the spouse of gospel musician Celestine Donkor revealed he had been receiving excuses for the non-payment in the past 17 months.
“They have been saying this since June last year. Is the contract about the second coming of Yesu?”
This is yet to be confirmed by the streaming service.
Boomplay artistes receive streaming royalties from distributors that are preferred by Boomplay.
By this, artistes can choose a distributor that is preferred by Boomplay to distribute their music. Artistes can receive their royalties monthly and collect them from their bank, PayPal, or Payoneer.
