To commemorate International Menstrual Hygiene Day, the Girl Child Department of Sekyere Central District Education Directorate held a programme yesterday to educate girls on menstrual hygiene and the proper use and disposal of sanitary pads.
The Member of Parliament (MP) for Nsuta Kwaman Beposo, Hon. Adelaide Ntim Yaa Agyeiwaa upon request from the Education Directorate provided 1,200 sanitary pads to all girls from class 4 to SHS 3 who were at the event.
Mrs. Diana Edith Asamoah, Coordinator for Girl Child Education at the Sekyere Central District Education Directorate, highlighted the significance of International Menstrual Hygiene Day and expressed gratitude to the Member of Parliament for her support.
The Woman Organizer for Nsuta Kwamang Beposo Constituency, who represented the MP, urged the girls to prioritize self-care during their menstrual cycles. Beneficiary students, who received training and sanitary pads, thanked the MP and the Education Directorate for their kindness.
