RTU Part Ways with Head Coach
Mumin Abdulai is no longer the head coach of bottom-placed Real Tamale United (RTU).
The club announced the termination of his contract on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, following allegations of match-fixing levelled against him, which have infuriated some fans.
The club said the termination of his contract is in line with his safety as some fans feel upset over his alleged conduct which saw them losing 2-1 to Nsoatreman FC at home on Sunday.
“Real Tamale United has mutually terminated its contract with Coach Mumin Abdulai. The decision was motivated by concerns raised over the safety of the coach in the discharge of his duties. Management takes this opportunity to thank Coach Mumin for his services whilst at the club and wishes him well in his future endeavour.”
The team will now be manned by Assistant Coach Iddi Mansah.
Meanwhile, the club has rubbished reports of match-fixing in the media space.
“The general public is also entreated to disregard any media publications about match fixing allegations against Coach Mumin.”
The relegation bound team, is bottom of the league log after 27 games, losing 16 of them. Their seven wins and four draws have earned them 25 points this season.
