Africa Games: Black Princesses Progress To Finals
The Black Princesses of Ghana have qualified for the finals of the All African Games women’s football after thrashing Senegal by 3-1 in the semi-final.
The unbeaten stint of the Princesses continued as Ampem Darkoa forward Ophelia Serwaa Amponsah bagged a brace for her side.
It was Tracey Twum who put the Princesses in the lead 18 minutes into the game with a first-half added-time goal produced by Ophelia extending their lead further.
The opponents managed to pull one back minutes after recess but failed to capitalize further as Ophelia’s second goal of the night booked Ghana’s place in the finals against Nigeria.
Coach Basigi’s side will be battling for gold when they face Nigeria in the Finals on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at the Cape Coast Stadium.
The game will take place at 8pm and Ghana is expected to continue their in-form and deliver a victory-commanding performance against their rivals.
