Lil Win Gears Up for ‘Mr President’ Movie Premiere
Kwadwo Nkwansah Lil Win is gearing up for the grand premiere of his highly anticipated movie, ‘Mr President’.
The much-awaited event is slated to take place on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at the prestigious SG Mall in Kumasi. The occasion promises to be a star-studded affair, featuring a lineup of Kumawood’s most prominent actors and actresses.
Lil Win’s involvement in the project goes beyond his role as the Executive Producer; he also holds the esteemed title of Chief Executive Officer at Wezzy Empire Movie Productions and takes on the lead character in this ambitious cinematic endeavour.
In an interview on Opemsuo Radio’s Oseikrom Kwanso with Mac De President on August 23 , the acclaimed actor indicated that the movie is full of life lessons.
He offered insights into the movie’s plot, stating, “In the movie, a president strives to complete projects initiated by previous administrations. However, he faces scrutiny for his intentions. Additionally, the president aims to collaborate with private businesses to boost employment, reduce taxes and bills, thereby facilitating the establishment of new businesses and increased job opportunities.”
Lil Win also emphasized the need for both the Ghanaian government and leaders in the movie industry to invest in building theaters. He pointed out that venues like the SG Mall come with substantial costs for use as cinemas.
Drawing a comparison to Nigeria, he noted, “We require dedicated theaters. In Nigeria, the government manages numerous cinemas. However, with venues like the Kumasi mall, individuals have rented these spaces and are charging exorbitant fees for us to use as cinemas. They demand a 50-50 split, whereby half of the ticket sales revenue goes to them.”
