WhatsApp Business Users Reach 200 Million
The user base of WhatsApp Business, a subsidiary of Meta, is now more than 200 million.
This was relayed by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company, Mark Zuckerberg in a social media post while announcing new features for the app.
The figure is reported to be four times 2020’s figure.
The app was launched for small businesses in 2018.
It provides business owners with messaging tools, categorization options, and a business profile that can be used to turn WhatsApp into a legitimate business tool.
The feat has been attributed to the rollout of features that ensure effective customer service and boost small businesses.
According to statistics published by Tyntec, WhatsApp Business speeds up customer service by 225%. It’s also reported to increase sales by 27% and improve conversion rates by 20%.
Data from Apple shows the App ranked among the top 20 business apps on the Apple App Store earlier this year.
In a Facebook post, Zuckerberg confirmed, “Soon the 200M+ users of the WhatsApp Business app will be able to create Facebook and Instagram ads to find and connect with new customers, without needing a Facebook account. We’re also announcing new paid messaging features so small businesses can reach customers more efficiently.”
