President Akufo-Addo Away On 6-Day Working Tour
President Nana Ado Dankwa Akufo-Addo is on a working tour to three European countries.
He will spend six days and return on June 24, a press statement put out by the Jubilee House said on Monday.
The statement said he was invited by the King of Spain, His Majesty Felipe Juan Pablo Alfonso VI, and the King of Jordan, His Majesty Abdullah II Bin Al-Hussein to participate in the Aqaba Process meeting of West Africa and the Sahel in Cordoba, Spain scheduled for June 20.
The meeting entails current efforts to counter terrorism and means of enhancing coordination and networking among various initiatives in West Africa to fight terrorist groups on the ground, in addition to countering hate speech on social media.
The Jubilee House also said President Akufo-Addo will partake in a Summit for a New Global Financial Pact by French President, H. E. Emmanuel Macron.
The summit will hold from June 22 to 23.
From there, he will proceed to the United Kingdom (UK) on a private visit.
The President is in the company of the Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, Hon. Dr Kwaku Afriyie, and officials of the Presidency.
“President Akufo-Addo will return to Ghana on Saturday, 24th June 2023 and in his absence, the Vice President, Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, shall, in accordance with Article 60 (8) of the Constitution, act in his stead.”
