Chelsea Goes Back For Frank Lampard As Caretaker Manager
Former Chelsea head coach, Frank Lampard will take over the team once again after Graham Potter’s departure.
44-year-old Lampard returns to the Club as a caretaker head coach after ending his role there in 2021.
He first took the role in July 2019.
He will remain with the Club till the end of this season, the Club said in a statement on April 6.
Lampard is also a former Chelsea player.
He was signed as a midfielder for the Blues from June 2001 to 2014 and remains the Club’s all-time leading goalscorer with 211 goals.
He will take the team through its game against Wolverhampton Wanderers this Saturday.
In an interview with the media, Lampard said he will give the Chelsea fans exactly what they need.
“I will do my upmost in this period to give the fans what they want, with all my heart.”
He also expressed his delight to be back at the Club.
“I’m also a very practical person, I’ve been on a different path since I left Chelsea but to come back as I’ve been asked and be back here with a belief that I can help until the end of the season is really great. I’m delighted to get the opportunity and I’m thankful.”
