Reduce COVID Levy To 0.5%-Head Of Manhyia Public Health Unit Proposes

The Head of the Public Health Unit at the Manhyia Hospital, Martha Danso has proposed a reduction of the COVID Levy from 1% to 0.5%.

She says that active cases for the pandemic has reduced and for that matter the reduction will be appropriate.

“COVID active cases have reduced but not gone totally,in my opinion we can reduce the percentage to 0.5% and switch to an emergency fund,”she said.

She added that it will be necessary that trustworthy persons are also put in charge of Levy for monitoring and accountability.

Madam Danso stated,”We must put people in charge to monitor and account for the money. The government must also ensure the use of funds for its intended purpose.”

This was during her interview with Monica M. Appiah-Manu of Opemsuo 104.7 fm, Manhyia.
