Chris Hughton Presents Black Stars Jerseys To Otumfuo
Chris Hughton, the newly appointed head coach of Ghana’s senior national team, Black Stars, has presented Jerseys to the King of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
The presentation took place on Sunday, March 19 during the second Akwasidae of the year at the Manhyia Palace.
This comes ahead of a ceremony to unveil him as the new Black Stars Coach in Kumasi and the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers later this week.
Hughton, accompanied by the Vice President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Mark Addo and others presented three white Black Stars jerseys with the name of the King embossed at the back.
The delegation, aside from partaking in the festival, officially introduced the new coach to the King and sought his blessing to emerge victorious in the qualifiers.
The GFA said the visit was also to “demonstrate their commitment to the people of Kumasi and the Ashanti Kingdom”.
The delegation included the Assistant Coach of the national team, George Boateng and the Chairman of the Division One League Board who also doubles as Vice Chairman of the Black Stars management committee Akwasi Agyemang.

GFA officials will also use the opportunity to make public the targets, terms of engagement, and other relevant information pertaining to the manager’s work.
Ghana will take on Angola in the 2023 AFCON qualifiers in Kumasi on March 23 and play the return fixture in Luanda, the capital city of Angola on March 27 to book a slot in the tournament.
Already, Hughton has made his selection for the game.
